    Question Building Questions

    Over the course of playing EB, I have accumulated two questions about it that I would really like to know the answer to:

    1. Why is there only one level of a blacksmith in EB? Weapons could be of differing qualities, could they not?
    2. Why isn't Mount Olympus a unique building/object in the city of Corinth? Is it because Corinth already has four other unique buildings/objects (Isthmian Games, Olympic Games, Statue of Zeus, Corinthian Canal)? If it is then, why was the mountain rejected? Petra has Mt Sinai and Sarmiszegethusa also has some kind of a sacred mountain/plateau after all.

    Building limits, mostly.

    Also, why the hell would Mt Olympus be near Corinth? I'm pretty sure Demetrias would be a better choice. I'm not really sure whether it's the correct answer, but I still think; building limits.

    You're right, Demetrias is a better place. Demetrias also lacks any unique buildings. So why isn't Mount Olympus a unique object there? Also, on the campaign map, it says that there are two unique buildings/objects in Syrakousai, as indicated by the two stone circles on the strat map (the symbol for unique buildings, you know, the one that looks like Stonehenge), but when I looked at the buildings in the city itself, there was nothing unique there.

    EDIT: BTW, thanks for the lightning fast response! Buildings limits don't seem very feasible to me for some reason though. There are so many buildings in EB and why would such a famous place as Mt Olympus be omitted out of all of those buildings?

    1. The effects that weapon and armour upgrades have in the game are disproportionate to the real-world effect of different manufacturing qualities. There were plans to remove the blacksmith altogether but it wasn't implemented.

    2. I have no idea. That it is not in likely means that no-one requested or the uniques for that area were added at an earlier date when natural phenomena had not been considered.

    3. Not sure what happened in Syracuse. I seem to recall a problem with uniques not showing up there due to a change in a value elsewhere. It seems it was not fixed.

    I always thought they refered to Agrigento. There is a unique building for that in Lilibeo, however.

    Well, I am saddened to hear that the blacksmith building is getting removed. I really liked it. It's also too bad that the Syrakousai unique buildings do not show up. But anyway, thanks guys for answering my questions so fast!

    Oh and just one more final question! Do any of you know what unique buildings/objects were supposed to be in Syrakousai?

    The blacksmith won't be removed, just read Foot's post once more ;)

    The blacksmith wasn't removed for EB I, but there is still EB II. Foot said that the plans weren't implemented for EB I. EB II is another matter, and there is plenty of time to "implement those plans".

    Anyway, I'm going to ask this again, just to make sure that no one will miss it: Do any of you know what unique buildings/objects were supposed to be in Syrakousai?
