Default Can't access the campign at all

    Hey all.

I've been scouring these forums all day looking for a solution to my problem and attempting to find a solution to my problem.

I installed EB1.1 over a clean version of RTW 1.5 (over 1.3) and everything loaded properly. I installed everything in my USER folder instead of program files (because apparently Vista doesn't like stuff in Program Files) and it loads just fine. I can play custom/historical battles, etc.

But the problem comes when I go to play the campaign. I choose my settings and click next...only to have the game crash and return me to my browser.

I don't know what to do. I re-installed several times, checked for errors, I'm missing no files, etc (using the install validation app), and still can't find anything wrong. My computer is more than able to handle everything on full. I don't know what to do.

    So, any possible ideas?

Have you tried the -nm switch? My guess is that it's a intro movie that's crashing on you, as they are not shown for custom battles. There are also a number of other suggestions in the validation post.

I'm not sure how the game behaves when you install stuff in the user area in Vista. My impression is that you're supposed to install programs somewhere else (such as Program Files, which you indeed should not do with EB), and Vista will put your savegames and preferences among the user files. You could try to copy the installation to c:\RTW_EB or something to see if it makes any difference.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

I do NOT answer PM requests for help with EB. Ask in a new help thread in the tech help forum.
