Default Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

Anyone out here playing BiA: Hell's Highway? I borrowed it from one of my classmates to try it out first, and first impressions are good. I'm almost done with the "Written in Stone" chapter, but there are some points which I would like to mention before anyone would buy it.

    - powerful computer is absolutely necessary - a processor over 2.2GHZ Core 2 Duo is necessary, and a video card of 256MB MINIMUM. 2GB Minimum also, I have 4, but I have immense lag on medium textures with 4GB, 256 and 2.0GHZ Core 2 Duo
    - gets boring and repetitive after 1 hour of playing
    - one shot - one kill, so you need to watch out if you are getting hit
    - addiction rating is high, although you get bored after 1 hour, after 1 hour of pause you want to come back
    - you need to employ tactics
    - the AI is a bit predictable and even on Veteran mode (Casual, Veteran and Accuracy difficulty) it doesn't have a very precise aim
    - I've been waiting for the game for a long time, but to be honest with you, I'm kind of dissapointed with the tactics system, it takes a lot of time to employ (changing the battalions you have under your command)
    - my friend finished the game in one weekend, so it is pretty short; at the end it says "To be continued..." which means that there will be at least 2 expansion packs for it
    - in-game movies are very good

Collector's Edition doesn't offer to much over the normal edition, so it is up to you if you want to spend extra cash on it.
Recommending trying it out from someone before you buy it.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

Default Re: Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

I pretty much agree with all of that (i have the PC version)... I also finished in a weekend on the veteren difficulty.

It is a lot prettier than the previous versions but not as challenging as "Earned in Blood"...

The story is good but has far more meaning if you have played the previous two games...

The enemy AI does okay, it fights back well but is very defensive. As you flank it will atempt to fall back but it never attempts to counter attack or flank you. The Tank stalking was rediculously easy with the tanks driving circuits and essentially ignoring you if you are in cover. Friendly AI works well enough...

It was fun though, and remains the thinking mam's shooter...
