    Default Armenian Apricot Question

So...why is/was Apricot the royal colour of the Armenians? I can't imagine it would be that hard to procure, unlike Tyrian/Imperial Purple.... Or was it, actually? Was it just the colour, or was the fruit also associated with the Armenian Royal House(s)?

I admit, I know nothing about this. I thought of this question a few days ago, when I was attacked by a FM-led army in my Arche Seleukia campaign. I hope someone can assuage me of my curiosity

The Apricot fruit had/has much meaning for Armenians. The fruits latin name is Prunus armeniaca, "Armenian plum." With the advent of agriculture it was probebly one of the first fruits to be cultivated in Armenia. A sort of national identity is tied in with the apricot. The nobilty of Armenia along side Imperial Purple had Apricot as Royal colors.

Well, you wrote the exact translation which is ok but it should be: ΖΗΤΩ Η ΕΛΛΑΔΑ! So I say, as a Greek with Armenian friends, ΖΗΤΩ Η ΑΡΜΕΝΙΑ!

I should go there and try to gain citizenship.
Then I can really become Greek.

I haven't actually. As for the citizenship, Anastasios, let me tell you this: Beeing Greek is not about heritage, it's a way of thinking and a way of living. You may not be Greek genetically, but be Greek in spirit. And somone with a strong Greek spirit is much more a Greek than someone with a bad spirit and Greek parents. More or less, it's what Alexander said: "To me, every good barbarian is a Greek and every bad a Greek a barbarian"

The discussion isn't offending the 3 people who are really having this conversation and it's revelant to the topic, so what's the problem?

It could soon turn sour. Ethnic discussions aren't fit here anyway.

The original question has been answered, and I don't know what the rest of the thread has to do with EB.
