Thread: Help! How do I increase the troop limit?
Eusebius86 17:07 11-17-2008
How do I increase the amount of troops that I can have on the battlefield so that I don't get stupid error messages from MTW2? I don't know which file I have to edit and if I need any software in particular to edit it...

What error messages are you getting?

I suppose he means the reinforcements delayed. Open medieval2.preference with a txt editor like notepad and change the line: unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 0 into unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1. Medieval2.preference can be found in the Medieval II Total War folder.

That's the exact one. Thanks for the help!

sorry for the double post...

The file "medieval2.preference" does not contain the string of characters "unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 0" in my medieval2.preference file. I found unit size, but nothing else...

In the options screen in game, there should be an option alluding to it. You might have to tick the box named "Advanced Settings", which is where the actual settings are.
