Default India takes down England again...

So what do you English and Aussies think? India has taken them both down twice recently (in cricket) and I'm wondering if we have any fans here?

    Yes....backroom for nationality purposes

Why is this in the backroom!
It should be condemned to a dark and musty vault somewhere!

We've lost most of our good players down here and we I think we are between generations. Our last generation of Warne, McGrath and our other big names have recently retired, but our new generation of younger talent are coming up. WIthin 5 or so years Australia will be number one again.

Football, no that is a good, good game, but as to American "foortball", all I have to say is Time-out. Uhg...

When will you guys take off those lady like suits of armour and slog it with us in the scrum?

You obviously have never played both games. The men are tougher in American football and each play is like a mini war. It makes rugby look like a bunch of effeminate Euros feeling each-other up....oh wait,
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

You have obviously never played Rugby in New Zealand, imo the only place where it is played properly, I expect Jerry Collins would have something to say about American footballers and their toughness

I have to admit American football is extremely lame in timeouts and such...

...in the sports' defense, it's only good for drinking beer or getting food in the pauses.

Otherwise, I have to agree "take off the suits of armor". And I live in TEXAS I might add...

Including Shane 'Girly Boy' Watson in the team? Even my Aussie friends admit he's overrated. Or Shaun Tait, giving away 5 wides every 2nd ball? Cameron White with his 'huge' batting talent? Punter the petulant child, who puts himself before the team?

    ...

Shaun Marsh I'll grant you but he's not in the team, and Krezja might become something eventually, although I maintain that he was lucky in the last test against India.

And a more effeminate sport than American football? AFL...

Say what you like but American football players are the best athletes in the world. I have made my point. The rest of the world can continue playing pattycake.

SFTS - I will agree that American football players are very impressive athletes - but the "best in the world"? No.

At american football - yes at other games - no.

I do not think that the Patriots would beat Aussie, England or India at Cricket (they would probably take New Zealand) nor Brazil at Soccer nor Malaysia at badminton.

I also know that they would not beat the All Blacks at Rugby. Even with their pads.

The best athletes in the world would be a good topic for a different thread - my personal vote would probably go to Gymnasts. Those guys are freaks.

    Black to the cricket.

Never fear the skippy's across the ditch you will have a good three day match against my beloved blackcaps starting tomorrow. Our boys will struggle to last three days with the team we have, and I wager that the Aussies will spend two of those batting!!

Congrats to India. Good to see a new team rising, albeit at home and with a few age issues for a few of your players.

I think we have strayed a bit wide down the leg side and seen rather too many googlies in this over for my liking.

I shall therefore be forced to raise a finger and declare this thread out just before tea.
