There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Well, I wish I could say it was my idea, but one of the local DJs, Cousin Dimitri, came up with it as a way of playing just Hank Williams, and Hank Williams songs during and covers his 2 hour show. I thought I would pass on the goodness.

Hank Williams and Louisiana had a special relationship. He played for awhile on a show out of Shreveport, called Louisiana Hayride, before getting hired by the Grand Ole Opry, and when those people up in Tennessee told him he was too drunk to keep working there, we took him right back. As well, his second marriage took place in New Orleans Municipal Auditorium.

That's funny, because the song is based on a traditional Cajun song, Grand Texas.
