This is going to sound very basic, but could someone please tell me how to do a screen capture and post up on the site? I've seen an explanation before, but the forums aren't searchable, so it's just easier to do it this way.

What I do is simply use the Print Screen button which stores the screenshot in a folder called TGAs in your Rome Total War folder. I use GIMP(a free download) to convert it into JPEG format and upload to photobucket, you can then post a link to the image. It's not long ago I thought it would be difficult and time consuming, but it's actually quite simple.
There are two ways actually:
1) Press 'Prnt Scrn' at the right moment, alt-tab out of the game and open a program like paint. Upon opening it, press Ctrl&V and it will paste the screen on the paint screen. Next, just save the image in a jpg format. Then open a image hosting webpage like picoodle or imageshack, click the browse button and select the screen you just saved. Click on upload and you will get some codes you can use here on the fora. Just paste it on the message box and voila! You've just posted a picture on the site.
2) Download a free picture-taking program like Fraps from the internet, install it and open it before playing. You'll notice a small yellow timer on top of the screen, indicating that Fraps works correctly. By pressing F9 at any time, you can record up to 30 second long videos, while pressing F10 at any time takes a screenshots on jpg format. To post it here, just follow the same steps as above.
Hope this helped,
Maion

Excellent random information! I was never really interested by screen captures as I thought I would have to wade through multiple programs just to make use of a single pic.
The warriors of Greece don't sleep...they wait for next battle.
This is great! I was just thinking of starting a new topic just to ask this question.
This question seems to get asked a lot on this subforum, at least twice a week or so by aspiring AAR writers. We should have a sticky here with all the info on how to host images and insert them into posts. It would save many the trouble of asking and answering the questions.
