    Default Experiences of Tyberius add-on?

Just wanted to get people's opinions of the Tyberius add-on for XL.

There seems to be heaps of new units, with great flavour, and some interesting combinations of abilities.

The new titles really get things going too, as decent generals exist from the start of the game (and often the best are in the hands of the AI!!)

The economics is interesting, too. There seems to be a lot more money flowing around for everyone. I've only played one campaign so far (as the Scots), and the Swedes went absolutely berserk! Never seen them conquer before, so that was nice. Burgundy and Bohemia were quite successful too, with good armies and army composition.

I decided to pursue my Scots campaign (even though I made pretty short work of the English). Love the units. Currently in an ongoing land-and-sea war with the Swedes, as both of us pump out the boats and struggle to get our armies a clear run into the other's territory. Good times.

One thing which struck me, though: Has cavalry been slowed a little bit all-round? I don't seem to be getting my charges off with as much precision timing as I'd like...

So, what's your experience thus far of the Tyberius add-on? Any bugbears yet, or is it pretty well-rounded?

    Thanks.

I'm interested in the answers as well, as I want something else than 'just' XL for my next game

The purpose of a fish trap is to catch fish, and when the fish are caught, the trap is forgotten. The purpose of a rabbit snare is to catch rabbits. When the rabbits are caught, the snare is forgotten. The purpose of words is to convey ideas. When the ideas are grasped, the words are forgotten. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words? He is the one I would like to talk to.

If you've not already done so, you should check out Cogre's Armenian campaign. I believe he's playing with XL Tyberius as well. (Incidentally, the Swedish are also huge in that game.)

Wow, that's a pretty hardcore campaign.

He certainly fought the good fight.

Experiences? Generally positive, since it adds a little bit of flair and flavour to the game.

i've tried to install it a couple of times but since i'd never played the XL mod before installing the patch, i'm not sure if i have it installed properly or not. can anyone tell me of a unit that would only be there if the patch is installed...or any other sign that the patch is installed properly, for that matter? TIA

p.s.(since i can't figure out how to edit my other post). i noticed in the thread on the Armenian campaign that the Byzantines and a couple of others have a different flag than i have on the version that i'm playing, so i'm guessing that i don't have the patch properly installed. i've even tried uninstalling MTW and XL before reinstalling the patch but nothing seems to work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this version, it contains both XL and the latest version of Tyberius' add-on. Should be fairly straight forward to install. But make sure you install it in a clean, unchanged MTW directory.

Well, I've played a couple of campaigns now, and the only negative aspect of the (otherwise excellent) add-on that I that I have gleaned is that the Irish have been ruined in the Viking age campaign. They've now basically got access to the equivalent of Berserkers and Huscarles, which is a bit disappointing. I could've elected not to use them, I guess, but still... it's total steamroller material.

    Hi

I recently finished an XL+Tyberius campaign (Cumans, Early, Hard, GA) and it was great. Probably the best campaign I've played.

This combo has reinvigorated MTW for me.

    Regards
    Victor

after installing it I do not envision playing without it. I like the variety of units. It has made working through the different factions a little more pleasing because I now change my unit rosters to include exotic units.
