So, what will happen to family trees?

I suppose if you were a monarchy. It would go something like this: You have a King/Queen. You might get only three in the whole game. (maybe less) You also have a Primeminister. Now the primeminister should last for four years to keep the game interesting. Each one has there own traits and all that stuff.

I guess it will be kind of like mtw then in that you can toss around various titles to various people as time goes on.

As for your side note, CA has stated multiple times that while some of there staff would like something more modern (as noted in interview that discussed 19th Century Total War game (1800-1900) they are nervous to get to modern do to the fact ww 2, and modern warfare have been highly redone and overdone.

I actually assume the expansion will cover the current time frame, the same way Kingdoms covered pretty much the time frame of MTW2 just more in depth.

I see your point. The thing is during WWI and WWII it wasnt really about taking over the world. ( Well it was for one man haha) But for the rest of the world it was about stopping him. There wasnt any real diplomacy untill the end of WWII and even that had to be done with the aid of a bomb. Plus it was all trench warfare mostly.


Having said that. I would be up for a futuristic/Post apocolyptic war. I can see how that might be fun.
But anyways thats getting off the subject....

I honestly dont mind how they do the tree as long as they kinda keep it in. It sounds like the player isnt going to be the leader anymore. It also sounds like they are borrowing heavily from EU3 which is good because it was a good game. If EU3 had incorporated turn based moves and real time battles, it would have made game of the century.

I havn't heard anything on family trees in past 3 months or so....anyone else?
