I have noticed a large disparity between a Faction Leader's "Victory Conditions" trait and the map displayed if you click on your faction's symbol. As Pahlava, for example, my Faction Leader wants me to control Pergamon, Halikarnascos, and Mytilene. On the other hand, the map shows my farthest western province to be Ipsos! So, in order to achieve victory, which set of conditions is correct?
Ignopotens 04:46 12-09-2008
I'm pretty sure the map shows the correct objectives.
Celtic_Punk 05:02 12-09-2008
I think its the other way round... harder to update a map than traits
johnhughthom 05:05 12-09-2008
I'm pretty sure CPs right as I seem to remember one of the team posting the traits were the one to follow.
Celtic_Punk 07:00 12-09-2008
ooooooo im right!

Click the "?" in the faction objectives scroll and it will tell you what you need to conquer and/or raid. From my experience it tends to agree with the trait. Plus you get nice blinking squares to highlight your needed turf.
Celtic_Punk 13:26 12-09-2008
yeah you get those too when you use force diplomacy.

Hmmm as sweboz, I've fulfilled the VC in 211BC and nothing happens...

Is your script on?
Onehandstan 17:41 12-09-2008
Why follow VCs anyway? Just take it all!
ziegenpeter 18:11 12-09-2008
Yep, my script is on, and I'm pretty shure, I rarely ended a turn without the script.
@Onehandstan: I'd like to know whats going to happen!
johnhughthom 18:46 12-09-2008
You get a nice picture, a few words on how great and mighty your empire is and asked if you want to continue.
The map for Pahlavân VC is outdated and incorrect. They are supposed to model themselves accordingly to Achaemenids, not wander around in the Sarmatian steppes. We have had no opportunity to update the maps. Please refer to the VC-traits for the correct and the most up-to-date data.

Are any of the other maps outdated?

This is the most accurate way to check victory conditions. That's how we verified that they were working correctly.

Most of the maps are probably wrong to some extent.
theoldbelgian 10:06 12-10-2008
the map for karthadast homeland regions is also very very wrong
Celtic_Punk 12:40 12-10-2008
yes this has been said. the maps are outdated. And I doubt they'll be updated by the team with all work going on EBII now.
see the traits for accurate VC

Thank you for all the replies....looks like I have a lot of work to do.
"Strangles EB team member who said I have to conquer all of Persia, Anatolia, the Steppes, India, all the Caucasus, Gerrhaia Arabia, Phonecia, Judea, and more...."
And all the Aedui need is Gaul.
theoldbelgian 23:47 12-10-2008
hey there is no need to react that way, the map is just outdated in an earlier version of eb this was the case and the team never found the time (due to more important things) to correct it

Hey, playing the Pahlavân demands balls. Don't hate the game, hate the player. I was going to add Egypt too before I was stopped
theoldbelgian 00:30 12-11-2008
mmh in the old rtw spirit you should have them take rome too :D
You can easily define your own victory conditions in your head. Just play to accomplish whatever you feel like, and quit when you've got there.

that's just...scary. Completing VC's in your head. OMG! I hear the voices! They tell me to conquer Ipsos! But my army is to scattered!

satalexton 15:32 12-14-2008
no, my evil clone tells me to send a baktrian army to sack rome for fun.

They are regions you need to raid ie conquer but not necessarily keep hold of. In other words just hold them for one turn.

Nothing is too bolted down not to be taken

, burning only comes when you're bored
