Those shock troops and whatnot. That were disabled in EBI's campaign. about them- Will they show up in EB II? I personally enable them in the campaign so I'd be a little upset if they didn't make an encore appearance in EBII.
Thanks
As of right now we don't know. Honestly though, every unit is being reevaluated. We have access to new information, new interpretations by different members, etc so expect changes for pretty much everything.
If we can track down the information then you may see those units. We haven't gotten there yet so you'll need to be patient.

So hastati might not even show up?
Well, I would hate to spoil the surprise.

Oh, c'mon. You love spoiling surprises, remember?
I bet the big surprise is a certain country with Uranus lasers that rhymes with "car mix"...

I'll bet my left nut they won't be back. They're based on made-up sources. Get over it.

Gee, who didn't see this response coming?
lobf, I don't know what your problem is with this mod or with those units, but you need to understand the difference between unverifiable and "made up". One does not equal the other. As it stands, the team views those units as being concepted with unverifiable information and were thus inactivated in the mod. Until we can get someone to hit all the museum basements in the British Isles or get in contact with the original historian, their status will remain as unverifiable. I, and the team, would greatly appreciate it if you would reconsider your choice of words the next time you decide to post in a thread.

Every nation had its champions. Eire should be no different. Especially with the island's proud warrior heritage.

The problem is not the champions. The problem is the equipment. Remember, EB does not include LS even when it was in use during the time-frame.

I recall a book that started with the letter "L." Can anyone remember the name of this thing? It was the basis for a bunch of the Irish stuff. It used to be listed on the EB site, but I
think it's no longer.

Can you think of a nation that would say it didn't have a proud warrior heritage?
Switzerland? They've embraced neutrality... Then again there are the famed pikemen.[/obliviousness to rhetoric questions]

There's a gun in every Swiss home. They don't embrace neutrality by hoping nobody passes through.

*Almost says France*
How about the Phoenicians?

The Irish word for book starts with the letter L, so I'm afraid that doesn't narrow things down much. Was it that author, Luachmharleanbhan? The Lebor Gabala?
EDIT:

He was Carthaginian, not Phoenician, so that's like calling Pancho Villa Spanish.

Heh, that's why I didn't say it. I guessed there'd be at least one French guy on the forum. It's a mildy amusing stereotype, as long as you don't take it to seriously, like the Scots being miserly, the English posh and Irish like me being lucky drunks. Also, for evidence that it's untrue, look at Napoleon.

Luachmharleanbhan, that's it. It's mentioned
here.
Do I really need to go on?

The Spartans. But in all seriousness, simmer down, lobf. You're completely overreacting...

Tee hee. I'm not angry or anything. Celtic Punk is just annoying with his Irish fetish.
Ireland is not special is all I'm saying.
oudysseos 22:03 12-12-2008
Oh, I'm sure that you have a fetish or two that we might find risible.

Certainly nothing I'd talk about on a history forum.

Yeah, me neither.
As much as I am enjoying this conversation, and I really am, this should really get back on track.

There is nothing to get back on track to. The question has been answered, and the thread should be closed before you spam it to death...
