I want to clarify that I don't want to appear like a bragging jerk. But some of the people here are Texans; with their big hats, pickup trucks, amazing football teams and general awesomeness. So when I see something that my state is a bit better at (look at our college football ) I'm consoled a little.

I admit to already being a bit tired of the snow this year. *gah!* I'm becoming old.

Snow is a part of life, Rabbit. We all have to get used to it... I'm freezing right now.

    Not so fast, Aemilius.

Back when I lived in Russia during the winter, we used to build tunnels in two-meter deep snow. That was incredibly fun. Albeit dangerous since there was a risk of collapse. I've seen more snow than probably anyone ever did in mainland US. I even remember a winter when the snow piled up as high as two and a half meters. Not exaggerating.

Yeah, same here in Canada. I loved building tunnels, it was so fun, although the danger assosiated with doing so never really crossed my mind.

For some bizarre reason, this thread makes me happy. It pleases me that others are so excited about snow. We have had snow here for a few weeks already. And some of the people I am working with (Irish) are all over the place. They behave like little children in the snow. It's brilliant!

Well, not so much snow up here, but something a bit worse.

Yesterday, we hit a high temperature at 11:45 at about 50 degrees Farenheit/10 degrees celsius.

By 10:00 PM/22:00, we hit -1 degrees farenheit/-18.33 degrees celsius.

It started snowing again here as well.

Departed for work 10 minutes earlier than usual, did NOT take the "safe" highway where there was the grandmother of all traffic jams, but took secondary roads. If you're a bit careful, it's no big deal really. Arrived just in time for work

I absolutely love snow. And it dampens the sounds, it makes everything more peaceful.

England has the most snow it has had in 18 years! London has ground entirely to a halt! Bristol... not so much, but I almost fell through a small Ice puddle.

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Are you at a university or still in (high school? don't know the British equivalent)? How long is the course?

I just remember the course being 5 kilometers back when i ran 9th-11th grade.

I'm only in secondary school so the course is only 2-3 miles I think.

A snow circular thing? You mean a snowball?

That "snow circular thing" (snowball to the learned) will harden up and become a deadly "ice circular thing" (iceball) in the freezer. If you want to kill someone wait a day and then peg someone in the head with it. If you just want it for beauty take it out and polish it every now and then.

Heck, don't put up with the inconvenience of delayed gratification. Just pack some rocks into your "snow circular thing" for increased fire-power.
