Nice thought, Pinxit. I want to see bloody coups d'etat. I want civil wars. I want gruesome deaths. I want villages sacked into nothingness and cities rise up in flames. I want... a greasy-haired Corsican to arise out of the ashes of war!!!!![]()
For maximum fun I suggest that for decades you rule France as an iron fisted monarchy, crushing all rebellions and squeezing the peasantry for everything they have. Then, when the time is right, the hero of France and the leader of the glorious republic can rise against the cruel monarchy and end their reign of terror.
Then he can carry his peaceful and benevolent ideals to everyone else in Europe. At swordpoint if necessary.

Historically the other kings of Europe certainly tried their hardest to bring this about, but Napolean was just to damn charismatic and popular with the people. Maybe in the Total War alternate history he won't be so lucky.
It would be interesting if other factions royal families attempted to help put the royalty-in-exile back on the throne. We could see a revolution act as a catalyst for all-out war between monarchies and republics.
