I wonder if the game will go to at least the War of 1812. There were some very good ships built by both sides that were the equal to any in the fleet.

As much as I'd love to see the War of 1812, I think the game ends around 1800 although some sources have said 1815 and 1820. The only real info we have on the start and end date of the game (afaik) is here:

I thought the Great Lakes ships topped out at about Frigate level, most being sloops or less?
Edit: make that Brigs as the biggest class.

maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...
Hms St. Lawrence was a Ship of the Line with 34-32pdr 34-24pdr and 34-32pdr car. plus 2 68pdr car. The USS Lake Superior had 30 32 pdrs 2 24 pdrs and 26 42 pdr carr.
I think ships of that size were few and far between on the lakes
The battle of lake Erie, the major Great Lakes naval engagement of the war of 1812, featured ships (boats?) of 20 guns or less
Yes that is true during early years of the war, later frigates but that was the only ship of the line built.

Wtf?! Maybe translation?
You know, I didn't even think about it til now, but is it even going to be possible to wage naval warfare on the Great Lakes? I don't know that I've seen any screenshots of the campaign map that show boats/ships sailing on them.
