They have exact ranges? I thought the maximum range wasn't set exactly, but was a function of the projectile velocity and the maximum firing elevation.

Obviously the terrine counts too, but that's the ranges it gives in the unit guide.

That would be on level ground, firing on the flat. The increase in range you get from an elevated position is quite large, I would say. Would the range of effect of cannon and ballista towers be equal to the range of a cannon or ballista? Or greater, because of the increased elevation? Anyone know?

I don´t *know*, but I think Ballista towers start to shoot before the siege ballista prepares to fire. So they probably have the same basic range and a few extra meters as they are 10 meters above the ground.

Don´t know about cannons and cannon towers.

That agrees with my observations, but it would be good to know for sure.

    Crossbow: 120 meter (AP)
    Arquebus: 120 meter

Xbows have the same range as Arquebus? If I would have known that I would have used them instead of Xbows on my battles.

The weaker crossbow units e.g. Peasant Crossbowmen, Crossbow Militia have 120 meter range. The more pratical Crossbow units e.g Paviease, Genoanese etc. have 160 meter + AP.
