Caivs Avrelivs Cotta for me please, Navarro. I'd like to be currently serving as a young officer in the garrison of Capua. Eager to impress and prove my worth to my Father and to Rome, I plan to apply to join the army as a low officer.

Ever since I was entered into the officer class by the wealth of my father, I have been ridiculed by my peers for my Plebivs standing. From a very young age, I faced hardships and often got into fights with a young aristocratic boy and his thug-like mates. However I learnt quickly that this would soon be the end of me in an environment such as mine. I began to sneak into the local school, where I hid while the aristocratic boy who I had had a few run ins with took his lessons. Over the year, I learnt to read and write Latin and Greek. The tutor also taught the boys oratorry lessons, and I practiced what I had learnt in the safety of my home.

When my father was awarded for his ingeniality with the Saturnalia feast, he finaly had enough money to buy in to the lowest senatorial class. He entered me, as a young child of twelve, into the officer training classes in the Capuan Academy. I spent four years there, anxious to prove myself to my teachers and my fellow pupils, but I have yet to acquire the respect I hope for.

My father died earlier this year in a illness. In consolation for his loss, I was awarded his senate seat. However, being so young and with so little experience, I realise I am vulnerable and need a patron and mentor inside the senate house. I am, however, determined not to be simply used for my vote, or to be manipulated by more powerful men.

And now, the southern legion is reborn. The might of Rome marches to capture the city of Taras in the south. I have just graduated from the Academy, and now is the perfect time to make my father proud. I have applied to join the Legion heading for Taras. But sometimes, I wonder. What's the point? They're never going to let me lead men-veterens-to war. A boy, they will see me as. I guess I will probably spend the rest of my life in Capua, or Arpi, or Arimium, the most exciting parts of my life being thieves in the market, or a fire in the Greek quarter. I dream of great things. Yet they are only dreams.

Great story and Capua it is for you only problem is that I will be playing your father as the faction leader and you as my son so that part needs to go ;)...and when i get this games "Story" thread up you should keep this one to put it in their and let our players know your backround.

Potocello you're a little late to become one of the three starting characters, but if I understand correctly, you will be able to join once the game is up and running as one of the future characters. TinCow wants us to do a trial three years to make sure we're worth the trouble of making a sub-forum, then we can start recruiting. I'd advise you to follow the game as a spectator, then you can be up to date with whats happening, learn how to conduct things, and be ready to jump straight in as soon as the time comes.

well put and indeed thanx Baen! but i may end up recruiting two new ones today so well see but im gonna post the first save in an hour so everyone can do their moves. once again make sure u know the rules from the start!

ya well im at work so cant post fer bout 2 hours as my work comp is not even RTW compatible lol...not that theyd let me use it haha. So ya im in the US id say 530 pacific time...hope that works for you guys. Uh oh boss...back to work

I am interested in joining this game. Please let me know which Avatars are available still, I'm having some difficulty discerning through all the posts.

I'd like to play a young Patrician officer if possible, highly aloof and above the day-to-day concerns of my men. My true concerns lie with the Senate! While book smart and saavy, I find the realities of a hard soldier's life physically demanding and really only a stepping stool to where I want to go.

If this character is not possible due to game mechanics, let me know. I am willing to play anything just to get in this sweet game.

actually, there's a FM avatar you could chose, I'm not sure about his traits though, you may want to download our most recent savegame and take a look at it; the guy's in Dalminion (you can download and look, and need not post "taking the save")

sorry, since TCV and navarro are the only ones (presumably) with the spawning general script, I don't have it added onto the copy of EB I use for BtSH; and since I'm temporary CoF, I can't spawn any new RGBs until TCV's computer recovers or navarro sends me the files required.
