Woah, I recognise that one with the blue shields, but if they are real pictures, good work EB II team. Not sure about the noses though TBH.

    Nice find, Princess Pontius. ()

Those skins are freakin' beautiful! The only downside I see is that some of those soldiers appear to be bald-headed. Could they possibly be given some hair on the back of their head?

Also, one quick question: Why are the Trarii never wearing their helmets over their faces? Was it the way the helmet was designed or something?

EDIT: This wasn't spam, you ***!

The shields of the legionaries are waaayy to small and they are held incorrectly. Also, the faces of the soldiers look rather creepy. Like she-males if you ask me. Oh, and the pectoral armour is placed awkwardly on the early Roman infantry. The imperial legionaries looked great though, and so did the general.

well I think this is only early designs for the units. plenty of time to polish all of those flaws that you guys mentioned (assuming this is EB II) it is a nice start though, and I think very impressive. maybe one of the moderators or team members can confirm the legitimacy of these screenshots?

and by the way, I think that the triarii helmet isn't and can't be pulled down over their face. It is the way the helmet is designed.

Fedeita was a modeller/skinner for EBII, but no longer has time to work on the team. These are not EBII units, though Fedieta's work has been used as a base for our Early Roman units.

Can anyone confirm this? I'm not challenging EB's historical accuracy (which is nigh-perfect, if not perfect), but am merely curious. If the triarii helmet can be pulled down over the face, why would the troops wear it like that, I wonder?

To clarify, Foot: we were going to use his models as a basis for our Camillans, but in the end we could not.

That style of helmet is called Italo-Corinthian or Apulo-Corinthian. It imitates the look of a Corinthian helmet when it was pushed back on the head as one often sees on greek vase paintings. The Italo- or Apulo-Corinthian helmet was definitely never intended to pulled down to cover the face: the eye holes are much too small and I doubt it would sit properly on the head even if you tried to do so.

It's a type of helmet called a "Pseudo-Corinthian" (the Corinthian being that helmet pulled over the face).

The Corinthian helmet and the lorica musculata (muscle cuirass) were popular adornments for statues of public figures in the Greco-Roman world, and thus became symbols of valour and fame. In such statues, the person in question would have pulled his Corinthian helmet up to show his face (as it could have been worn while on the march or other non-combat military duties). This image became so common that helmets were eventually designed to be worn expressly like this. Hence, the Pseudo-Corinthian.

    Corinthian
Corinthian on a statue (or a Pseudo-Corinthian -- it's hard to tell the difference, which was sort-of the point)

That's what I said the last time, but notice how he uses colored letters... As if he is indicating this is just a rare exception. Sadly, I seriously doubt he'll stay. Although I do miss Foot, it is probably better that he does not spend the whole day on the forums, answering our noobish questions, but instead working on something meaningful (for other people, if not for me) such as EB II.

Well, I think he's probably leading a good, busy life outside of EB right now full of women, wine, and promotions at work. If so, then I'm happy for him.

But I still miss your beloved presence, Footsie...

Nope. If you have checked his profile regularly, you would notice that he is on these forums half of the time. He still moderates, although largely invisible. In other words, he's got less of a life than even someone like me. Which is once again a good thing, since it means that Foot is dedicated to EB II and these forums during his free time, not girls, booze and partying like most of the people...
