Happy new years guys...I think ill give the senate another day as last night i hope you guys could enjoy away from the comp....I know i did.
We still have an entire day of the original time. However, there seems to be a lack of other edicts in the Senate. I keep trying to steer the conversation towards new edicts, but i dont think people are taking the hint

hey guys, i went ahead and changed the Battle Points Column in the library to Battles Served for the unaligned tribuni. Tribunus' will never really be commanding so they wont get BPs. But it will allow me to keep track of who is eligible for Legatus.
To speed up our military prowess and players involvment, Navarro, maybe we can have new legions being slowly but contantly created, and then when a tribune is promoted, we can simply give him command of that legion. The continuous recruiting can almost be off the books for roleplay reasons if that makes sense, so that we dont look like we are thinking ahead like this.
Ooh, and its almost 20:00 pacific!

FYI navarro I'm Tribunus Nero, not Il_Duce (check the voting thread) ;)
Update on this as well: It is not entirely impossible however for Tribunes to command a battle. If their superior officer is not present (In real life) and tells them its okay to take the save and do the battle, then he may. If he is victorious, the tribune will automatically be promoted.

Regarding the battle difficulty: Medium is the most realistic one, playing on VH f.e. only makes foreign peasants slaughter your elite forces. Thats no fun, its just unrealistic. We just mustn't pump one army after another.
Were the Tribunii not meant to join an Army of a Legatus and fight 2 battles, so he gets Legatus himself? 2 battles happen pretty quickly.
And another question:
If the Legatus (next higher rank) is the Commander, so who's the second in command? If this means, that 1 Legatus and 2 Tribuni (second and third in command) fight in an army, so we can "create" 2 Legati per army.(1) The Tribunus is third in command of a legion. He is young and therefore must learn how to properly lead and is required to serve in a Legion under a Legatus for at least 2 battles to be promoted or serve as an aid to a Provincial Dictator for 2 years.
(2) May not lead an army of any sort and has only a vote, but no proposing power of edicts.

I don't think people need to post OOC disclaimers that they're not actually mad at the other person. This is all IC role-playing and we understand that. In fact, it says this in the Rules and FAQ. This RP wouldn't be as fun if everybody agreed with everything everybody else says.
Also, I'm finally a member after 11 months. Hooray!
Congratulations![]()

Wow. Really? I just asked TosaInu nicely and she said OK. Also, no offence Navarro but I think in terms of expansion we should try and not be totally historical. I mean if the Senate agrees to expand there fine but if you want to play this RP like that then I really don't think there is a point. Saying that though I am all for historical accuracy in ever other sense such as building, armies and recruitment. Just my two pennies.

we don't need to expand historically accurate, we write our own history. But we need to RP our history realisticly, that means not starting war with everyone etc.

Yes but Navarro said he didn't want to start war with Gaul and Carthage because historically the Romans didn't untill later on.

This is more the angle i was going for. Im not saying we have to actually do it only in 264 (Carthage Wise), i'm simply saying with our military it is not even realistically or historically sound.
here, another example of what i mean. were talking so much of war here and war there and it just isn't practical lets be honest.
