I havent choson the tribunes for my legion yet...and I think there was only two people that hadnt voted anyway so it wouldnt have made any difference even if you had voted no.

No, I'm going to judge it on commitment to the legions, to the direction, potential and perhaps a little personal favourtism. Some of the candidates know what I mean. Accuracy things too like Plebius will help, because Cotta is a Plebius.

what exactly happened to the other unit of Eqvites Romani that was in Legio I Apulia, was it disbanded? we could have just transferred it to legio II and saved 3000 denarii.
anyway if Legio II is to be completed, we'll need to stop spending money for a turn or so.

Another thing, for when we get further down the road (40 or 50 years or so), do you think we should set taxes more historically accurate? I think that most provinces in Latium/Italia were barely taxed and the newly conquered barbarian states were taxed highly ("beat into Romans"). Or am I off on this?

Might as well go historically accurate 100%. He only put the campaign difficulty on hard.

There's nothing I would recommend more, than Caesars Commentariorum Belli Gallici for the start. Very exciting, very well-written (AND you have the Link to EB, very soon he writes about balearic slingers and cretan archers ^^). I'd also recommend De Bello Civili after that (which unfortunately is not complete extant).

No point. After you became a Roman citizin there was no taxes at all but you had to fight in the army. That means there is no real point in trying to stay historical in that sense.

I thought it was just general knowledge. I learnt it off a member here called Quintus Sertorius. He reads A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of history. In any matter the game doesn't represent Roman taxes properly anyway.

Its true, there were no taxes but each citizen had to serve 10 years minimum of military service which is basically one campaign...say serving all of the march through Germania.
