    No point. After you became a Roman citizin there was no taxes at all but you had to fight in the army. That means there is no real point in trying to stay historical in that sense.

    Are you sure about that? I would like to see some sources. Iv read about Rome alot, and I have never heard about this.

    I thought it was just general knowledge. I learnt it off a member here called Quintus Sertorius. He reads A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of history. In any matter the game doesn't represent Roman taxes properly anyway.

    I just did a bit of research. There were will taxes, slave taxes, and ect but no actual head tax on any roman citizen. I never knew that.

    It's amazing what you can find when you search. This is why I think we can't realitically simulate taxes, likewise we can't simulate population because of training taking away from the whole population, not just the strong male section.

    Late game im sure we can set the Italia taxes on "low" and tax the crap (crap tax? ) out of the provinces.

    Of course but by late game I'm sure with this tight micro managing that the game will become really fun because of civil wars. But yeah the money will start rolling in then.

    Its true, there were no taxes but each citizen had to serve 10 years minimum of military service which is basically one campaign...say serving all of the march through Germania.
