Welcome to the world of work, my son. Enjoy it while you can and save your money. It's very important that you save your money. There will be plenty of things to spend it on - not all of which you want to do! (bills)
Glad it's all fun and games now. Try not to let it get your down when the days get long and boring, or you'd rather be doing something else. And remember, what you do reflects on your mother. So, keep straight and fly right!
I remember the days when i was dating my wife. She was the head chef at a nursing home. She used to hook her little helpers up with all sorts of food if they were good and make them clean all sorts of nasty stuff and rearrange the freezers if they sucked! Be glad you don't work for her![]()

Legion commanders, please PM me if you have any awards / decorations you want added to your section of the Phalerium. Remember: Awards for commanders should be approved / voted on / bestowed by the senate (especially the Triumphus!)
A brief description of who is getting what and why is most appreciated.

hi, since the Dux campaign is over, I assume it's Cicero's turn to be very busy handling retraining, recruitment, garrisons and the miscellaneous stuff; so I'll try to coordinate some of the recruitment and such. so I think I'll need Navarro to move those units to Illyria as according to my SOT first.
Legio I: can be retrained whenever, Segestica isn't under threat from any large enemy armies 22.3% damaged*
Legio II: needs to take turns with Legio III to retrain, I think Legio III should go first, Legio II is still in good shape 12.6% damaged
Legio III: should be retrained first, it's in the worst shape and took a bit of a beating, though it won. 23.3% damaged
*yes I calculated it based on the battle results, although it's based on numbers and not unit quality.
but it's still obvious that Legio III should be retrained first. so I suggest the 4 garrison units be sent via ship to epidamnon and Legio II protecting the city; while Legio III gets sent back via ship to be retrained.
and on the dux campaign thing, I've no idea what to do with it yet, perhaps the senate shouldn't declare it over until there's a clear sign (e.g. Epirotes 'withdrawing' by means of moving troops away/legions securing the region).
you mean legio III should be split.

Many thanks to Hooahguy for this great sig.
I like everyone's idea about training a few units then sending them over to Epidamnos. on that note could you recruit some more units for me everyone? not sure which ones i want yet

I don't think so, it would be rather odd as there isn't any IC reason for me doing so.and don't try bribing Cicero via PM, he's got the "stern"/"spartan" trait (I forgot which one), which means he's less likely to accept bribesnever mind, only someone as daft as Tiberius would do that. I think the only way is in the senate, darn if only that CA I proposed the previous session was seconded.

okay then propose it in the senate for next council? that would make sense

it is over, the objectives are complete, as i posted in the curia we must now decide as a senate what to do.
On the note of giving more units. I think we need to be fair and keep what we have. While all you Dux's can now command a few more units, doesnt mean you need them. Lets kick in some money for garrisons, get our new Legatus's a legion of their own and maybe formulate another offensive.
If you ask me i say we just wipe Epeiros off the face of the earth. they are Romes soul enemy right now the would have no mercy shown.![]()
Yay, he's finally awake!
And no, don't destroy them. Thats very bad for roleplay reasons.

umm no it is not the Romans cheered in exultant joy when they defeated their biggest Mediterranean enemy since carthage. Shoot you wanna talk good roleplay, technically we should be at war with Carthage and already be taking Sardin Corsica and Sicilia.
Thats not roleplay, thats historical accuracy. They're different.
And pleeeease Navarro, answer my PM...it's been so long![]()

i feel like BtSH has been lacking activity recently, certainly Curia activity. Anyone else getting this feeling?

I got us a sticky recruitment thread going here:
I can keep it nice and updated as the game progresses. Hopefully we can get some new Tribuni so we can expand militarily and have governors.

We have a congressional session coming up in a week or so, and I will return to Roma for that. I've been too far from my house, etc and I want to stir the pot some. (Yes, Bean, I saw your statement that I, Tiberius Claudius Marcellus, of the Gens Claudia would dare try to bribe your representative)
Perhaps one of the Dux, Duxes, Duxi, Duxasauruses? should propose a CA that each active player must post something in the Curia (either themselves, their aids, via letter, etc) at least once every 3 days or once per week. We could use this as the benchmark for inactivity (say you miss two postings - unless you give notice - and you are moved to the inactive list). Additionally, this would keep conversation and debate going. Just a thought.

I sometimes don't post in the Curia because I am sorting stuff out behind the scenes that I would post or not post according to the answer. Of course because everybody lives everywhere it can take a long time to get an answer, and all the time the length of time between Curia posts lengthen. We need some sort of system where we discuss more trivial matters, because theres not always stuff about the war to talk about.

if you ask me i think the reason the curia is so dull right now is simply because things went perfectly. Hell i think we have dealt Epeiros such a blow so fast they didnt know what to do with it lol. If it had gone bad think of all the mess we would of had to deal with.
It couldnt have gone bad. I was in charge. But dont forget Epirus spam at the beginning of the game. They have had plenty of time to muscle up. I think we just haven't seen their armies yet.

He's right though. You should have to at least win a heroic victory to get a triumph.
oh no i know, you should have to win MORE than a Heroic victory. Plus, it's not like Cotta conquered all of Ilyria by himself, he had the Legios I, II, and III at his disposal.
Maybe this should be said in the Curia...
