i'll take a look at the save game tonight, and I'll propose a few provinces.

Maybe then it becomes a bit clearer to all players, and they can react and propose changes etc.

hmmm...I'm wondering so how are personal legions going to fit into all of this province definition and such. keep in mind that it (personal legions/provincial legions) isn't defined properly in your rule changes yet; so I'm still assuming that the current version's definition is imposed; and it conflicts.

Yeah well, I haven't really looked at the house aspect of legions much.

I don't really see the need for them anyway, outside of civil war.
I was thinking houses should be more like political factions, gathering a bunch of politicians of the same vision.
Gathered to do themselves favours and to be able to control elections and proceedings politically.

I have an idea to merge the idea of houses controlling regions/as 'political parties' and controlling the provincial legions at the same time; but I'll post it once navarro gets back. I don't want another discussion without the gamemaster to moderate and decide.

It's not that the game was unworkable, it was just copied too much to actually feel Roman.
After the reforms recently, I think we will feel a whole lot more Roman ;p

I'd like to propose some ideas for Provinces, which you could consider when you look at the map, mini

Gallia Cisalpina: Aemilia, Liguria, Venetia

Pannonia: Pannonia Illyrica (future possibility: Pannonia)

Dalmatia et Illyria: Dalmatia, Illyria Hellenike, Epeiros

Possible future Provinces:


Sicilia: Sicilia, Trinakrie, Elimya

Insulae occidentalii (western Islands?): Sardinia, Korsica, Baleares

Achaia: Lakonike, Peloponnesos, Attike, Euboia

Macedonia: Aitolia, Thessalia, Makedonia

Thracia: Chersonesos Thraikia, Odrysai, Thraikia Hypertera

Narbonesis: Greseoallra, Arvernotorg, Volcallra

Aquitania: Aquitae, Lemorisae, Batromorgan

The drawing of borders for provinces is open for everybody.

Future provinces will depend on the way we expand and how political intrigue will end between certain factions ;p

Depending on Navarra translating current ranks to new ranks, i have 3 or 4 provinces carved out of the current territories

Gallia Cisalpina
Liguria (Segesta)
Aemilia (Bononia)
Venetia (Patavium)

Awarded 1 Legion

Gallica Transalpina
Greseoallra (Massilia)
Volcallra (Tolosa)

Awarded 1 legion as long as we are at peace with the surrounding gauls.

Illyria
Pannonia Illyrica (Segestica)
Dalmatia (Dalminion)


Epeirus

Illyria Hellenike (Epidamnos)
Epeiros (Ambrakia)


Depending on the availability of qualified governors: if we are low on qualified governors and only able to have the consuls and a praetor to govern, we can always merge the last 2 provinces until our pool of possible governors grows.
Both provinces get a legion, and if we merge into 1 province, I leave it up to the senate to decide for 1 or 2 legions.

(edit: well, seems like the same setup as Swissbarbars, only different names)


This brings the total to:
3 or 4 provincial legions
1 consular legion, which goes whever the CoL goes.

I believe we can manage this in the current game as we already have enough legions?

For ease, I also suggest we give the Legions names towards their province.
Thus the legion in Gallia Italica, will be named Legio Gallia Italica I
If we ever vote to have another legion there, that becomes II etc.


That way it is easier to refer to certain regions in IC, without having to cheat in the library which legion is where ;)

I used the move_character cheat (there would've been ships anyway, am I allowed to move them?), so we can get the new legion-stuff settled. I roleplay it as a forced march. This was explicitly an exceptional movement, due to the Game-Master reforms.

If this is not OK for some reasons, tell me, and I'll take the save again.
