indeed i will be doing that from time to time, particualrly i was thinking once peace is settled with epeiros, i was thinking sometime later we have an event like "The Rise of Thrace" or something which we will RP as Epeiros rising back up to take back their former lands. Id givem like two full stacks and see how well our players who command legions do being outnumbered

darn, desert got himself banned (according to TosaInu in the watchtower), that means another active player gone, and also we need a new commander for legio V.

it's probably going to be one of those licentia proeliator guys (which is mooks), or tolg (L.C. Scipio); or one of the Corneli Scapula (I don't know the plural for "Cornelius Scapula") if you count them having served two battles before navarro changed the ranks of everybody.

Just stopping by to see how things are going. I'd like to first off announce the birth of our second child, a daughter, named Lillian Marie on Wednesday April 8th. She's a beautiful little thing and we're very proud!

Mooks, thanks for the thought of commissioning a statue of me in the Curia. TCM would have loved a statue being made of him, though he would have to downplay that in public, of course. If you wish to erect it somewhere else then I am sure it will be much adored and cared for. Thanks for the sentiment.

Congratulations also to the Legio III for taking Syracusai! I'm glad we finally got into the fight again.

I see that the debate in the Curia and the OOC threads are almost where I left them - kind of resembles a soap opera ;) when you think about how little they move forward. Hope you're all having fun and good luck!

Mini and Bean (well, and me, but I only contributed one post to the discussion) already talked about changing their name and all that, and we came to the conclusion that it was not a feasible idea. I would personally never remember to call them "the defeated ones" and would just call them Epeiros, and then I would get punished just because of a small thing like that. Next time I wanted to address them, I would do it again, and I would get yet another punishment for that, and so on. New guys who don't know about this would also be punished for such a small thing.

I already edited my posts. You misunderstood the first point. "the defeated ones" is how I call them in the edict, and not how I suggest to call them. Read the whole edict first, before you judge. If you had read the last point, you'd see that I proposed to call them "allies of rome" or friends or whatever.

Of course it's more meant to see them as friends. You will not be punished, if you don't call them "friends of rome" in every sentence.

It probably won't be of much use to you for this PBM, it deals mainly with the Principate and what it does have for the Republic era isn't in depth and is unlikely to teach you anything you don't already know. It's still a very interesting book though, read it in one sittting!
Hope you don't mind me posting here, just following the game wishing I could have multiple EB installs...
