    Default Favorite Liquor

Mine would have to be Goldschläger. I tried this stuff over break with my friends and I honestly can say it was the most delicious liquor I have ever tasted in my life. I don't usually like the taste of straight hard liquor, but i was pounding shots of this stuff (its around 44%) with no chaser or problem.

My sister bought this once. I tried some, nearly lost my supper. Vile, vile stuff. Unfit for human consumption. Vodka on the other hand is very nice. Mixed properly ofcourse.

Personally I would go for Grey Goose, neat (straight). Gets down to the point really.

I have a rule about brown liquors. They are best used for a disinfectant. As that is what they taste like.

I wasn't alone in that view. She broke it out at news years party and the women loved it, the men hated it.

I tried Goldschläger once when I was younger. It wasn't terrible....I guess.

To be honest the older I get the less fond of flavored liqueurs I become.

Not in my experience, women prefer coolers. Of Vodka or Rum. I actually like vodka Martini's quite well. At the parties I've gone too the women brought coolers, or beer. The men brought a bottle of booze for mixing. And in one unfortunate case Saki. I have no idea how the Japanese drink that stuff.

Drinking any liquor straight means you want to get drunk. Mixed drinks are actual sensory experiences. I've never enjoyed drinking anything straight. I even water down wine with lemon lime pop.

I cannot stand Captain Morgan. Too sweet.

SFTS, I've had Whiskey but I just don't like it much. I really like my alcohol to be only burn. That's why I like vodka and that's why I like Bacardi rum. I don't really get a taste for either of them.

Granted, this is for drinking straight.

Mixed drinks to have slowly etc. is a totally different story, but I have little to no experience with that, so I wouldn't know.

If you want to try a good rum go for Havana Club 7 year old. Ludicrously drinkable straight or mixed. It is twice the price of Captain Morgan's, but as they say you get what you pay for.

Good Raki [Turkish]/ Ouzo [Greek] go well after a decent meal.

Good Whisky [I am not an expert, but my friends know their way around] is an awesome drink for a decent conversation, e.g. about history.

Mixed drinks: Cuba libre with Havanna Club Rum & Campari with Organge juice.

Bavarian style is "Blutwurz". It comes in shots and hits you like a warm breeze in the head...after one or two of them...afterwards well.....

Vodka. Not too smooth (:p for you Goose fans), it needs a little edge. Smirnoff blue label is about perfect. Doesn't much need to be cold either.

I don't drink anymore. I like the stuff a little too much.

Not a particular fan of any strong spirit when not mixed. Straight vodka can be all right if your in the mood when served chilled and over ice. I don't mind Glendronach either but I find it makes me incredibly tired so if I'm out socialising I'll try and avoid it.

For mixed drinks it would have to be a White Russian. Substituting the cream for some milk of course. Another choice and favourite would be a mojito.

I'd obviously prefer cider or lager over cocktails or straight spirit drinks any day but if were choosing fancy drinks and spirits here ill go with that when im in the mood.
