    Default Deserts

Just a dumb question, is it possible to transform deserts into forests?

Lets think if it wasn't a garden, it was the Sahara desert.

(Not intended to go against you, just trying to go to my point)

With enough water anything is possible.

Plenty of mining communities in Aus that have townships full of trees where there once was just desert.

The reverse is true too. Chop down enough trees and you can create a desert.
Our genes maybe in the basement but it does not stop us chosing our point of view from the top.

Humans tend to cheat and up the soil quality, making the forest grow faster (otherwise you would only get trees that can grow in sand for the first decades atleast). That is if you provide enough water of course.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?
