Cant make Alliance in EB 1.2

Helly, i am playing EB 1.2 without any mods.

I tried it 4 Times to reinstall the complete Game from scrap, but the problem is the same: I can´t make an Alliance with any other Faction, playing as Karthago, Pontus, or any other faction.

The Option "Alliance" is simply missing when acting as a Diplomat - and NO, i am NOT at war with them.

Is that a "feature" of 1.2 ?

It is definitely NOT a feature of EB, nor it seem to me being a bug. Make sure that not only you, but NONE OF YOUR (other) ALLIES is currently at war with the respective faction. In that case you cannot ally with them according to the engine (and common sense).

It is a feature of plain vanilla RTW. You can't have alliances with enemies of your allies, nor with allies of your enemies.

Yea, i know that, thanks.

But in fact, in my actual Game as Karthago, i dont have any alliances at all. But i cant forge an Alliance with Aedui.

AFAIK the ability to make alliances can not be modded.

It could be an RTW bug.

Are you sure you aren't allied to the SPQR? Because Aedui and SQPR are at war and thus you cannot ally with the Aedui.
If not double check if you are at war with someone the Aedui are allied with.


If it isn't any of those cases, I don't know... I do know one thing however: you ain't missing much. In RTW: alliances = open invitation to backstabbing AI.

Perhaps you have a war going though? You can't ally with the ally of your enemy.

No, for real, i am at Peace with all Factions, the Lusotanns have no Ally or Enemy at all. We are both "clean" but there is no possibility of an Alliance.
