    Default General questions

    Hi all!!
After a long line of test after test i'm back.
I have a few generic questions:
    1) why is it that sometimes when i turn on guard mode my units turn around and fight the enemy with their backs? it's incredibly annoing
    2) along that line what exactly does guard mode do? (exept prevent pursuing)
    3) in my koinon hellenon campaign i have all of greece exept epeiros (wich strangely has managed not only to keep taras but to take the region north of it also) all the egean islands, all of sicily, rhegion and Capua and halikarnassos rebelled from AS to me.i play on H\M and am at war with AS and Roma but kinda stalled since i dont wanna lose my alliance with epeiros, rome is defended by triarii and pedites extraordinarii but the other 4 or 5 provinces have very little stacks. my economy is not incredibly solid as i make (with building and recrutment included) ruffly 5-6ooo mnai so i cant make huge elite armies. in sparte and in siracuse i'm building a lvl4 barrak plus in athens i only have a lvl 3. (makedonia is destroyed) so what do yall suggest should i forget about italy and go into asia minor or destroy rome? it's kinda hard considering that if they unite the stack they have in rome with the one they have outside of it (wich also is kinda elite) i'll have a very hard time taking the city.
    thx to all

    1) hardcoaded bub. nothing we in the forum or you can do about it. just turn gusrd mode off, order them to turn, and when they are done, pu them in guard mode (or better yet, just turn it off)

2)It keeps formations more in block (a.k.a cohesive). otherwise, yes, it was origionally meant to prevent persuit (or minimize chances)

3)go to asia-you best bet, Epeiros won't mind much, and Roma can be left to its devices (which means that eventually they'll fight a bunch of Gauls or something.

Another reason to let Rome live: once they build a Huge City in Italia the march of time event (like the Marian reforms in Vanilla) will occour and this measn you get a macedonian phalanx unit which (as much as I know) can be very useful later on. I don't know if you get other units - never played KH alot...

I'd consolidate what you currently have and develop your economy. With some higher level ports in Greece and the islands, and mines built, you should soon start to roll in the money. Reduce your armies to just what you need to hold your current possessions, and only build stuff that will directly increase your income (ports, markets, farms etc).

Give that 20 years or so and you'll soon be churning out your stacks of elites. As mentioned, you should also get March of Time by then too.

Asia Minor can be a royal pain in the ass, if you have to fight wave after wave after wave after wave of Seleukid stacks. So take 'em out now, whilst you still can. (N.B. Your main target is Antiocheia.)

    Ok thx all.
New question how about if take all of rome's possessions except rome and when i get the reforms i destroy'em? also are you shure about the middle east campaign? i don't think i can maintain a two front campaign. plus it's a huge swamp and difficult to move out once you move in. Apgad your solution was very smart i will definitely consider it.

The reforms have to be in an Italian City other than Rome.

A two front campaign is hard, and I wouldn't recommend it, due to the likelihood of a third front breaking out with Getai/Epeiros. You'd be in deep doo-doo then.

well, in 1.1, aliied generals have to be trained from the lvl5 regional MIC. but you get your first client ruler for "free" but only the first one, if he dies you have to build the government new(to get a new one), if you wish to maintain the allied city status, that is.

the system has changed since 1.1

For a school progect i have to do some reserches on 3 topics: rituals pre-,during and post-batlle for romans; same thing for greeks of classical age and find information on the second industrial revolution. For the first two i was hoping someone in here could please help me, for the last i was hoping for a link to a very detailed site, i already tried wiki, google and yahoo but never found the right amount of details.
So if any of those experts out there could help i'd really appreciate it.
P.S. i'm particularly intrested in the peana, i know it was a chant to inspire troops in honour to apollo but have no idea what it said.
P.P.S i kinda also need a map of roman expansion in the year 245.

Bust out your library card. Sad to say that Wiki and the Internet in general are still not better than a well stocked library for history research.

I don't think you'd like living here. of course the landscape is beautiful, but to go to school i have to drive 50 km.
