    There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

    My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

    I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

    Pro wrestling is not fake...it´s 'coreographed'...which isn´t the same thing....
    there´s no way to "fake" a 3 meter fall off a ladder into a stack of tables......you either take the fall or you don´t...it´s not like they´re using computer graphics.

    as for the "real" stuff.......the fights are usually extremely short and I find it boring as hell.

    it´s the same thing as watching Rocky or watching a real boxing match....
    Rocky -> Fun
    Real Boxing -> snoresville.

    I used to be a huge fan of the WWE when I was younger, but after the true wrestlers started walking out I got into MMA, mainly UFC. I still watch the Royal Rumble and of course, Wrestlemania. I talked my brother into betting $10,000 dollars on Randy Orton in the Royal Rumble. I hope those "choreographs" don't try anything smart.

    If you where betting on next sunday´s royal rumble I´d say your brother would have a good chance with such a bet.

    $10,000 dollars? Why not just bet $8 dollars and be on the safe side ?

    Don't watch wrestling but I usually watch a bit of K1 when I find it on the tv.

    Because it's too predictable nowadays. Plus, we get $20,000 if we win. Deal of a lifetime.

    Anybody remember the kids' TV show Los Luchadores? Anybody also think the girl Luchadore was hot?

    The difference between 'fake' and 'choreographed' is splitting hairs. Nobody watches a choreographed Hollywood fight and thinks 'Man, that dude got his *** handed to him.' He's an actor, he performed a stunt, and even if he performed it exceptionally well it was still as fake as a three dollar bill. Fake can still be fun and entertaining, but it's still fake. Do you want your girl to have a 'choreographed' orgasm or... well, you get my point.

    You're spot on about most boxing matches these days though, boring beyond belief.

    of course you don´t say someone is getting their ass kicked in pro wrestling...but I think "fake" is too strong a word for an activity where the people involved have an higher injury rate than any other "real" sport.
    the comparison with stuntmen is a valid one.....007 didn´t really get into a car crash in 'Casino Royale'...but some stunt dude really did......was it a 100% real car crash?..of course not...but he was inside the car when it was doing flips down the road.

    and frankly....considering some of the football games I see here in Portugal, with referees like we have I wonder if it can be considered a "real" sport either
