No, it is not okay under Program Files. It is okay anywhere else than Program Files. For instance, C:\Rome_EB. Note that you need to have RTW 1.5 installed there first.

Then you have disabled UAC. It's easier to explain that Program Files doesn't work than explain about how to do that and the ramifications it has.

Bovi, cmon. You, of all people, should know that it's ok to install under Program Files if you use XP.
UAC does not exist to me; I don't have Vista.
We don't know what operating system Master Chief here uses, so you can't just tell him he shouldn't install in Program Files.

Desert, then your previous post was not a contribution, but deliberate misinformation. We recommend installing outside of Program Files regardless of any circumstances, because we don't want to have to explain the difference of OS's and settings to people who don't know computers and therefore will be confused by it, which is exactly the people who ask why it can't be under Program Files.
YES, I can tell him to install outside of Program Files. It will work every time.
