assistants are not "greenified" and IIRC can only move, merge and soft delete posts/threads, things of that nature.Congratulations Quintus.JC!

Moderators can issue warning posts and hard delete.
(Soft delete gets rid of the post/thread but leaves a copy)

That's a question I would like to find out more about as well. The title is obvious, but what are the other major differences apart from the certain avatars that only moderator uses?

pever summed things up quite nicely.
Basically Assistant Moderators command the authority of a Moderator just without a couple of the more "hardcore" powers. They are normally appointed when a green moderator needs assistance moderating a forum, hence the title
