random unheard of faction. then india
i like the non normal factions, gotta have some difference in unit choices, nothing more drab than playing 2 campaigns in a row in M2tw and Rtw with factions with almost identical unit rosters. bring on uniquness :)
cheers knoddy
"How come i cant make friends like that"
"You need to get out more"
"Im in another galaxy, how much more out can i get"
Im surprised it said on their calender that they were going to release a new unit today but its getting late and still nothing besides confirming the release date and updating the specs.
It is late and it isn't.
It is late if we assume that they are a month late with releasing the game and all we have for it is a silly unit.
They are not late though when we view the whole 28 day period, known to some, as Feb.
In CA's defense when they did Rome demo, they did include Carthage vs Rome and Elephants, which was very different from Shoguns samurai demo, and when they did mtw2 demo, the animations were the main newness, and they did include two battles and five different factions, so it was different. Even gunpowder units and cannons were included.
I'd be happy with just land battles but I know alot of people want to see the new feature this time around to, which would be naval battles.

WE WANT DEMO!!!!!!! Brings out pitchfork
Meant to put a comma after surprised.
The Battle of Gangut would be a great naval intro to the game, but that's just my crazy Russophillia speaking, probably :P
Tallyho lads, rape the houses and burn the women! Leave not a single potted plant alive! Full speed ahead and damn the cheesemongers!
I think the naval battle is a good option because not only do we finally get to see in Naval battles are as hard or easy as several people think, but we get to also see the land battle animations during a boarding.
Of course, a land demo would also be interesting because I am curious to see how cannons work this time around and calavary.
Long as we get
a
DEMO
I'm really looking forward to naval battles, so thats still my number one demo want. There hasn't been a decent ship to ship combat game in a very long time.
I still have fond memories of games like Sea Dogs and even the flawed sequel Pirates of the Caribbean. I liked the second one even though it was horribly buggy and unfinished, just becausre it had good boats.

Ah yes, PotC. Naval combat was the only thing that kept me comming back to it, and needless to say it got dumped right after I got my hands on Corsairs: The Return of the Legend. Although I don't think that came out anywhere beyond eastern Europe.
I'm thinking that for the demo we'll get a small naval battle, maybe a one-on-one of Thirteen Colonies vs. Brittish. Or maybe a RTW tutorial-esque battle where the player is given only a small fleet, say, one or two ships, and the AI controls two larger navies. Although I sincerely hope that's not the case, because all that interrupting by lame advisors annoyed me in those. It would be a good chance to see what good are the advisors this time around, though.
I'm not sure what kind of advisors we have this time around, but i'm pretty sure if I did a poll people would want more attractive female advisors, and less stale voice sounding military advisors
Just a thought.
That said that would be rather upsetting, because in the Rome one all you really did was hold off one infantry charge, kill some archers, and then charge with main force. The whole thing was fairly short.
If it was a ship tutorial, it would probably be. A ship attacks with X so you have to use X kind of shot. Then a ship with a small crew attacks so you must fight them off in a anti boarding action. Then you must board ship whatever and destroy it.
Similiar to a POTBS mission.
Yes it will be interesting to see what we get with the demo. I expect a Battle,( for us to test out ranges, formations, and garrisons!)
And also a naval battle to test out how it works etc, etc.
**Hi there guys, first post in the Guild, I am also a member over at TWC, found this site in a thread, so Im joined up to both**.

Hi there Familyguy1, why don't you take a look around the Entrance Hall as well!
There's a whole lot of people there who rely on new members posting! Quintus gets whipped if he doesnt greet enough new people.
Please come and introduce yourself at the Entrance Hall, I don't wanna get whipped by Monks or any of the other senior staffs.

Have CA said anything about the contents of the demo? I really hope they will give us something very small to play around with. If they let us test two gaxiljonbiljon ships in a naval battle, and billions of soldiers in a land battle, the game will feel spoiled when I lay my hands on it.
A ! A ! My kingdom for a !
