Q: What's worse: losing 100-99 or 100-0?

A: Neither. They're the same - a loss.

If both teams played to the best of their ability, a good game was had, whatever the score. Did the losers just quit, not answer the 4th quarter buzzer? No. They played on. Likewise the winners didn't quit, employing their more complicated plays and tougher goal shots.

There was no humiliation there. On either side. It sounds more like parents and school administrators have interfered, for political-correctness reasons (which sends the wrong teaching point to the students, IMO).

Maybe the fired coach can become the loser's school's assistant coach, and teach those kids the techniques needed to be more successful, point-scoring players. Once they know how it looks, feels, smells and sounds to win, they can do it more often (like my sorrowful Detroit Lions need). So far all they know how to do is lose. It's what they've been trained for. And they don't disappoint.

I agree: whoever built this league needs to get off the sauce and reconfigure it.
