Default Re: Coach Fired For Running Up Score

There's a world of difference between playing to win and totally humiliating another team. Covenant had a 90-0 lead and was taking 3-pointers late in the game. Playing against handicapped opponents from Dallas Academy. Does that sound like sportsmanship?

I don't think anybody has a problem with the team winning, and handily at that. But there's a not so fine line between playing to win, and playing to rub somebody's nose in it. It's pretty clear that the Covenant team was doing the latter, and when the coach continues to defend his actions in that regard, even after the excitement has waned, the school has a right to replace him with somebody who better represents their values.

Don't they have the moral that there's more important things than winning in Europe?
