Problem with battles

Im sure the answer is simple, just I have no idea how to solve it. I didnt put this in tech section because I dont think its a tech problem just a gameplay problem.

The part of the battle screen which controls the defence, speed, formation, etc etc is gone. Its usually by the bottom left side of the map. Now its at the top, and in completely different format and I have to move my cursor up there just for it to show. Very unpractical and I have no idea how to change it back, or how I changed it at all.

You can use ctrl-t to toggle between speeds. If you hate minimal UI, you can also just turn it off.

look on the 'RTW/EB/Preferences ' folder for the preferences.txt file and do a search for 'minimal UI : true' in there.... edit it to false and you will get your normal UI interface back.

Or you can click on the icon titled "EB Preferences", which will pop up a menu that has several options you can choose. One says "Minimal UI", and it probably has a check mark. If you uncheck it, your game should return to normal. It does the same thing as Pobs suggested.
