    Default Weird senate office problem

I've come across an issue with some of my FM holding onto their Senate office for more than a year. This happens very seldomly, but with my last two faction leaders, one held the office of consul for 5 consecutive years before dying of old age and my current leader has now held the office of censor for 6 years. In each year after he was first elected, the FM retained the office but their was no message that came up during the spring saying that he was re-elected. During those years the 2 FM did not get elected to any other office.

This is really starting to annoy me since I just noticed another one of my younger FM has now held the Tribunis Plebis office for 2 consecutive years. I am afraid that he will continually hold this position now and not have the option of attaining a higher position.

Has anyone come across this before? Does anyone have any suggestions for how I should fix it? Thanks.

It's happened to me before, usually with censor, it doesn't happen often so I just roleplay some reason for an extended term. They always lose it eventually, never after more than four or five years.

The censorship differed from all other Roman magistracies in the length of office. The censors were originally chosen for a whole lustrum (the period of five years), but as early as ten years after its institution (433 BC) their office was limited to eighteen months by a law of the dictator Mamercus Aemilius Mamercinus (Livy iv.24, ix.33).

Perhaps that is it? Should not apply for Consulship though.

Thanks for the replies. I think it must be some kind of bug since none of my other FM who've obtained a consulship or censor position held it for more than one year consecutively. I was just curious to see if it has popped up on anyone else's game. I don't mind too much as long as it doesn't prevent my family members from getting future offices.

A bit off topic, but my Faction Leader just became consul a second time! I didn't know this was possible in the game (although it makes sense, there are many example of people who were consul multiple times), however it's the first time I saw that happen in EB.
