I hope I need not-a use fony iapanese akshent every time I come in-a here..
I have Shogun: Total War WE.
I have just wasted two hours playing a Uesugi campaign in Sengoku Jidai.
You were all right about the atmosphere of the first game!
And my concept that the AI handles a simpler situation with skill was correct also!
Surprisingly, I had my first riveting battle with the Imaguwa, involving 100 Yari Samurai and 100 Archers on my part, 200 YS and 100 Archers on theirs.
I lost, but I think the way the units fight in Shogun is far more realistic than any other title!
For the first time I saw one unit split three ways in their haste to attack - and once the melee began, the units did not seem tied together by a magical string.
I am really enjoying both battle and campaign so far.
I am winning, but only slightly - my ally turned arch-enemy the Hojo I pushed back to Musashi, but they (In another unprecedented AI move for me), called an alliance in with MY ally, the Mori, who betrayed me and pinched by exposed back.
Riches are flowing now, but I thought I was doing something wrong to begin with.. I was so poor!
The AI have impressed me - especially in diplomatic affairs, they seem to have foresight now!
I will discuss my appreciations more another time, I am quite tired.
Verry atmosheric and riving game!
