I read somewhere here on the forums that I could use the add_money cheat in order remove money from other factions that had become too strong. I tried to do this but it had some strange effects.
Using the cheat and the internal faction names I tried to remove money from some factions and give money to others. But it didn't work at all. the only faction that was affected was my own (Romani), but not by the amount I had typed (for example: I tried to remove 100.000 Mnai from the Ptolemaioi, but the only thing that changed was my own faction's treasury but by 30.000, not 100.000 Mnai).
What exactly did I do wrong.
PS: Here is how I typed the cheat: add_money numidia, -100000

As far as I know:
The , doesn't belong there. The maximum amount of money that can be given/taken in one use is 40000.
When I first tried to use the cheat I didn't use "," and I only added\removed money from my own faction so I scrolled up to see how the script used the cheat to add money to factions and found it was written using a "," between the faction name and the sum of Mnai.
So 40.000 is the maximum? That might explain a lot. Thanks

Then I've learned something new, too

50'000 is the maximum

What Lysimachos says is true. If you wish to remove 100,000 mnai from a faction, you have to enter 3 console commands, namely 40,000, 40,000 and another 20,000 to get the desired effect.

No, it isn't. 40000 is.
And for adding population 4000 is the limit, strangely enough that limit is gone when you remove the population...
add_money (-)150000 = 40000 mnai added or gone.
add_population 10000 = 4000 added
add_population -10000 = 10000 gone
Weird...

Okay so let's say i want to help the maks by giving 'em 40k , what exactly do i have to type?
As far as I know : add_money macedon, 40000
You have to use the internal faction names. Those can be found on bovi' signature at the frequent issues.

Shouldn't that be "add_money macedon 40000", considering your Numidia with "," doesn't works..?
When I used it without "," the money went to my faction. But I admit, I could be wrong.

Hmm, yeah, seems like you are right. I wonder why it didn't work for you then.
There's one guy who says it also works when you type add_money "macedon" 40000.
But add_money Macedon, 40000 should work also.
I think that it didn't work for me because a tried to add/remove more money than the maximum 40.000.
Giving 30.000 Mnai to the Arverni worked just fine. It was with the other factions where I tried to give/take more than 40.000 that I had problems with.
You definately need the comma. (Open the console and push up a couple times to see the correct format that the script had just used on the prior AI turn.)
The maximum number is 40000, but IIRC there is no minimun. You could theoretically take any negative amount away.
