    Default campaign difficulty-I'm pleasently surprised

So I gave Kingdoms a whirl recently, thinking it would tide me over until Empire. I expected the same scenario that has occured in every one of my TW campaigns. I have a wee bit of difficulty at the beginning and then I steamroll all the way to total victory.
I decided to play Jerusalem, thinking I would be fighting against hordes of Muslim hosts. At the beginning it was pretty straightforward I took settlements with ease, something that was greatly helped by the fact that I began the game with almost three stacks.
After some boring sieges I decided to take the fight to Egypt, I sent one army there under Prince Guy, assuming that I would defeat the two or three Egyptian armies and be master of the Pyramids. During the first battle I was taught some humility. My army was composed of mostly spearmen, a couple of tripoli squires, crossbowmen and about 3 units of Knights. I was fighting about 2,5 stacks. I managed to deal with the enemy's infantry, but after I charged the reinforcing light cavalry with my templars I realised my mistake.
Much to my dismay not only did my cavalry's charge fail to pulverize the beduins they were actually losing to them. I sent more and more of my cav there with the same result, and the arab cavalry kept coming. I eventually realised I was screwed so I attempted to retreat to my infantry which was also being pounded pretty badly. Somehow I was able to create a semi circle, but with my army decimated by arrow fire and the prospect of another charge I withdrew.
That was the beginning of a pattern, I sent an army it lost I replenished it and won. So far I am in posession of Dumyata and Tanta, I have been sieging both Cairo and the city two the left and both times I've been repelled. I did kill Saladin though. Overall I'm very impressed with this campaign, although I know I could just create two more armies and pulverize them, but where's the fun in that.

The Crusader states are too easy, in fact the Muslims aren't so hard either. Overall the whole Crusades campaign is too easy.

I find the Teutonic campaign slightly more chanllenging, ever so slightly though.
