When should Mongols show up?

The Mongols often are afraid to attack across a bridge even if you do not have a great defensive force. I am often amazed at how cowardly they "behave". Maybe they are just not as stupid as I think; but I have never played a wargame with anyone as "chicken" as they are. The other factions seem to be quite foolishly brave by comparison.

Had the same experience when I was defending the Nile with Spain. The full stack Mongol army halted at the sight of 2 units of Tercios and a couple of dismounted knights, at the end I just had to wait till the battle timer ran out, it was extremely annoying.

Haven't had that experience in my current turkish game,instead the whole horde is busy taking my cities one by one,starting from Antioch. Nothing I have seems to stop them,not for long anyways,as they have the numbers to keep coming and coming and coming until my garrison is depleted..

im thinkin maybe friday night at around 8 oclock.
we are gonna have a pizza and a few drinks.

maybe they wont be so grumpy anymore.

Look how nice the Mongols are nowadays. In another 500 years we Americans may be nice too.

im relatively nice.. heh.

cheeseburger induced heart attack and stroke epidemics will plague the states.
Those dirty middle easterners will try to lay siege to our country.
fortunately for us, we have gunpowder and a more advanced tech tree these days.
we also have a much higher military budget, and can easily block their ports.
