Hey Atraphoenix, which version of City Mod (a or b) do you recommend for Extended Offices for Pahlava? And just to make sure I'm reading this right, what needs to happen to get an office in the Pahlava campaign? It's 252 B.C. and I don't have any cities so obviously no governors/satraps but I don't have any CICs, treasurers, etc. either. Just making sure I'm doing things right....Thanks!

if you read my first message you can see that my current version is compatible with any city mod version. I have not added offices for Barbarians because of lack of info. plus there is no mod I know that modifies ancillary files so in theory my mod is compatible with other submods of EB.
If you plan to play Pahlava one of my favourite factions I do not advise you to install city mod, cos you have to feed your cataphracts, less population means less money. but of course the choice is yours.

Plus constant wars eats your manpower so you have to exile the population that you captured during the conquests of the cities. or lower the taxes and build population increasing buildings.

I always blitz with pahlava so mostly I get offices during the first 15 turn.

Well, I doubt whether there's place for so much additional legions... but let's see which can be added:
    II Adiutrix
    II Italica Pia
    III Parthica

those organised by Galba - VII Galbiana (then VII Gemina, yet after merging with I Germanica)
I Macriana Liberatrix - veeery short existence...
VI Hispana??? (Philippus Arabs, mentioned only once in history)
    VI Gallicana (Laelianus)

Those last 4 legions - well, existed very late or for very short time... I doubt whether there's sence fo creating them at all.
Note that even with 35 legions you will have 35 FMs with legio ancillary - that's really pretty damn big number.
[of course I do not count the 3 legions destroyed in Teutoburg Forest - the Romans never re-created them anymore...]

so you say 35 is enough? though I like the 45 legion lists of livius. remember we have 199 regions mostly the romani historically conquered nearly more than 120 provinces of EB.
maybe to adapt the idea of marvin 1 legion per 3 provinces 40 would be reasonable too.

Well, I would say that those 35 is nearly enough; you may add the 3 legions (doubled/tripled):
    II Adiutrix
    II Italica Pia
    III Parthica
    as the were quite reasonable;

List of Roman Legions in wikipedia says also that Marcus Antonius has formed Legio XVIII Libyca (disbanded in 31 BC), and Caesar has created a Legio XXX Classica (naval) - from fleet marines (existed 48-41 BC), but...
I think that the number of 38 named legions would be quite enogh. Also the condition of 1 legion per 3 regions is also fairly OK. I'm only thinking whether to add requirement of specific city to be captured or not.
However, I'm going to increase the number of 1st Cohort AOR, so they can be easily linked to cities (I'm gonna work on ALX.exe only), and I'll use Western and Eastern 1st Coh., theyll have slightly different combat capabilities.

I also support the idea to stick with 35 legions (or even LESS!!!), especially as Darth said, there is only a limited number of FMs and if EVERYBODY would have a legionary ancillary, it would spoil the whole noble exclusivity of the concept - like inflation just de-values money rather than makig you richer.

However, I have a question to you, Atraphoenix: what are you using the electbility attribute for? I have tried to study the uses of this concept, and the only I foud is to keep track who has what ancillary to be used for traits. Basically it is a bridge between EDA and EDCT, as I understand it. Now, as EB team apparently has some use of it in the system of Roman provinces, I am afraid that using this attribute (which to serves no vital purpose for your offices mod) might cause some conflict.

Please correct me if I am wrong!

If you do not use for any reason particular to your mod, I woud recommend to cut it ("electability" references) out for safety reasons.

    EDIT:
I have just found out here that EB team used the electability attribute to make sure that the FM is not a provincial governor already. Now keeping this condition would exclude provicial governors from obtaining legion commands as well, which goes against your own description, that "where there was a single legion in a province, its commander would also be the province governor..."

    EDIT 2:
What a fool I am, now I see that this to prevent a general from obtaining two legionary banners at the same time! Sorry Atraphoenix for doubting you!

This is a measure well worth the fact that provincial governors woud be excluded from legionary commands.

my descriptions are ready I also got annoyed with the numbers we need governors must be around 16, consul, and rookie generals so we need a settlement on the numbers of legions.
