Legion vs. Phalanx online tournament

Just wondering if we are able to start getting some approximate times for the first battles. Its Friday afternoon where I am and gotta start planning my day tomorrow. No rush, i can be available any time throughout the day but I can't just be sitting here all day. I have to do stuff around the time that I will battle.

Actually, I have nothing on Sunday so I could supposedly be available all night until the early hours of Sunday monring if I had to verse a lower GMT person (you people are living in the past, time to get back to the future).

Hey everybody!

Βελισάριος and I had a chance to played 3 test games last night. Boy were they epic. I only have two of the replayed but the first game was a Macedonian victory. Thracians managed to hold off my cavalry long enough for B's Companions to KO half my men.

Keep in mind that these were just for fun so the tactics seen here may or may not see use in the tournement.

Comments: AS Kats were unbelievable against infantry. I should have brought some spear untis with me for them. They did however completely fail against my giant ball of Roman cavalry. We were all stunned by their crap morale. Maybe my general bribed them to run off like that.

Comments: Keep an eye on the first hastati on the left. That guy was my MVP. They took alot of pain.

Oh, tips for Macedonian Strategoi... Peltastai Makedonikoi, those cats won the first battle. They defiantly refused to die and chewed up Munk's cavalry... if it hadn't been for them and the Thracians, I'd have been a lot less cheerful this morning.

The AS one is probably my favourite, though... when I saw those cataphracts cower like bunnies I lost all will to live. We had a good few laughs about those, though.

I'm still waiting for a few people to confirm. Macilrille is out of the competition, Turnus still hasn't confirned, neither has TWFanatic.

And we find ourselves one Roman short... again. Any volunteers... Tolg?

I think it's fine, since the format in single player mode is different than in multiplayer mode for EB. . .right?

Click the little video camera on the battle report.

I think he was referring to the folder where to put the file.

It should be in [Your RTW vanilla folder]/EB/Replays

Or just do what munky told you with any random battle and the folder will be automatically created (unless you have it already) and it should be easy to find afterwards.

BTW, munky... you up for a rematch tonight? In, say... an hour or so?

Then again, they are supposed to kill peltasts, I was just glad that 1 of my 2 units was able to hold your flanking units for a while.




Also, in EB I really get the feeling that Hoplites are underpowered, maybe doing something with them for this tourney would be better. Like the 0.2 density? Right now, either with or without guard mode they get beaten 1 on 1, front or non front.
