    Default the depressing thread...

    hi!

I figured I'd start a deperessing events thread, to document all or some of the depressing things everyone has been through (comically is preferred). I'll start:

-The other day I managed to reserve a trip to see a lecture on dinosaurs (I'm a paleontology major), and I was looking very much to febuary 21st, to enjoy hearing more stuff on dinosaurs.

then, this afternoon, I went to look at my physics schedule, and I found that my lab is also on the 21st, from 8am to 8pm, so I can not see it. And I was so looking forward to it..

I was once alive, but then a girl came and took out my ticker.

Oh cool! Paleontology is an interesting subject, I think most kids who had a dinosaur craze at one point considered this as a career path. Sorry you missed out on the lecture.

On a side note, do be sure to let Gregoshi and Kukri know about your future discoveries. I'm sure they've got fond memories of their youth back during prehistoric times!

Well I have to play Concertino de la Camera for a competition next Saturday and I am not prepared at all.

Even worse, I have an accompanist practice in about 2 hours and I am not really ready......Now I think of it, I better go practice.....

That depressing mess I mentioned twice above just keeps getting better. First, as expected, the woman told me off when I told her the truth, even though she wanted the truth. Maybe our kids can still be friends somehow, but she's pretty well done with me.

Even worse, her ex-husband had himself put in a mental institution by threatening suicide, which means she lost the support she needs to keep living in her house. Her other guys is, meanwhile, still with his wife and with no divorce on the horizon. So she has limited means of support, has just kicked my family out of her life, and will still defend the married boyfriend's behavior to the last. She's not sure she can keep her developmentally disabled twins in the programs they need to be in either.

Yeah, my life has had it's *&*^#^ up moments, but that's depressing.

Worst of all, she's the sweetest, most loyal friend I've had over the last year. I tried to be the same for her and messed it up. I'm sick with anger at myself, but truthfully I don't think there was any way to do the right thing and stay friends.

Somebody, somewhere go out and get drunk for me. I need it.

Ha ha Whacker. That prehysterical humour gets me every time! Keep it up and you'll get Jurass kicked, sonny.

    I have a depressing story!

Regina R---- was a student at Columbine High School in April 1999 when two students went on a murderous rampage. In April 2007, she was a student at Virginia Tech when another student went on another rampage.

Fortunately she survived both times, but tell me if any such series of occurrences could be more depressing? Walks away depressed for having remembered this depressing story...

No sense crying over every mistake.
Just keep trying till you run out of cake.
    And the science gets done,
and you make a neat gun,
for the people who are still awake.
