Default Japanese Vid Clips: Mongol vs Samurai

These clips were posted in another forum by Guild member Yoshitsune on January 31, 2009. I don't think they got much attention there, but I'm thinking that some Sword Dojo fans might enjoy them.

Classic Japanese low budget samurai stuff, overly dramatic to the point of being comical at times. Still, an entertaining watch--I laughed out loud several times. The costumes are pretty good, and the settings and props etc..

One thing I noticed is that those who armed themselves with naginata in the third clip were unarmored, contrary to the model for naginata troops in STW. This confrontation took place centuries before the Sengoku Jidai, so perhaps this is why.

What is it with one-eyed heros? Date Masamune, the "one-eyed dragon," lived during the late Sengoku period. I'm not very familiar with heros from the time of the Mongol Invasions, so perhaps a historian here could enlighten me.

Kudos to Yoshitsune for these clips.
