Default Carthaginian and MoT reforms question

    Greetings!

A friend of mine is currently running a Karthadast campaign. I know there are two reforms for Karthadastm, their own and the global march of time.

Now I told him it would be wise to leave the Romans alone till the reforms and he conquered Sicily and then focused on Iberia and inner Africa. But the savage "allies" rushed and randomly attacked Messana. Now he is already prepared to crush the Romani before they become a threat. But then the MoT event never will come. So I ask for some information

I know the MoT reforms make the shift between eastern early to late bodyguard and unlock troops like Koinon hellenon phalanghlites and the Hysteroi Pezhetairoi. But do they have anything to offer for Carthage?

According to the FAQ the Carthaginian reforms are activated by building five of the biggest local barracks in Italy, Africa or Iberia (correct me if I'm wrong). What do these reforms have to offer? Elite African Infantry? Liby-Phoenician Heavy Infantry?

Please help to clear up some vagueness around these reforms!

    Thanks for reading!

I'd be keen to know this myself. AFAIK, Karthadast doesn't actually need to sustain the Romani in order to get its reform, but I could be wrong; and apart from building up MICs I think the reform comes about automatically in 200BC.
No idea what it unlocks, but one would presume Elite African Pikemen at least, and perhaps also Elite African Infantry, Sacred Band Infantry and the Heavy versions of Libyan and Liby-Phoenician Spears/Infantry.

MoT = Nothing for Carthage. Its only for factions that don't have a specific reform themselves (or only get 1 or 2 units max, new bodyguards usually it).
Carthage's Own Reform = Iberian Assault Infantry, Heavies of Libyans and Liby-Phoenicians, possibly a couple others. Not terribly world-shattering, especially since the IA can only be recruited in a few provinces and not all of Iberia.
Conclusion = You may safely crush the Romans at your leisure as Carthage.

I've been smacked with full stacks of IA. It was not a fun day.

As a side note, it can be any faction which builds a city in central italy to trigger the MoT, so it doesn't matter whether you crush Rome or not.

No, it has to be Roman. As in Roman culture group. Since Romani = only Roman culture group, you must leave the Romans at least 1 non-Roma province and let them get to Huge to get MoT.
