I believe, if you look at the map there is a lower and upper louisana. If you recall the area Napolean sold during the Louisana purchase, was actually originally spainish land. So it could be controlled by spain in this time frame.

They actually get a fair bit more of Canada then I thought. It's pretty intriguing. What I don't get is why is the only thing they hold in france paris?

Shouldn't they hold some of the smaller provinces or something?

I guess the trade theatres arn't shown, but I'd think they'd also own something in the Carribean.
