Try to find Allagash. The stuff rivals Chimay as a good Belgian beer, but it's from Maine, a bit cheaper and they have even started making their own styles of beer rather than sorta copying Belgian styles, though to be fair it's hard to say that their inventions really deviate from the Belgian tradition that much.

Yeah long live beer! Though keep it Belgian, nothing beats a good Trappist, or an old fashioned Karmeliet or the now almost extinct Old Belgian style (Palm is one of the only ones left). And of course Duvel and Delirium Tremens. Though when it comes to Pils Chech is an option as well.

At an average of $10 a six-pack? I don't think so. I can get a 12-pack of Icehouse for $12 and it tastes fine to me, plus I actually get drunk.
    Duvel
My favorite beer ever. (Although some Belgians seem to hate it for no good reason.)

I notice a strong tendency of nationality influencing the taste for beer.

I disagree. I sense a strong multinational respect for Belgian beer.
Even Joe said it was his favorite.

Edit: As well as Irish and Czech.

However, people tend to note that they drink what is affordable and available in their regions.

I personally drink Abita, but I prefer Belgian when it's available and affordable.

I love getting drunk... but I'm not paying 12 dollars for a case of Icehouse... maybe a 24 pack.

Edit: Really, I don't know if I've ever actually bought a case of icehouse. I don't like the flavor. I prefer pabst as my well beer of choice.

Well, granted, it's in bottles. Anyhow, the 30-pack is $16, but I'm not living in an alcohol-friendly environment at the moment so I have to be able to sneak in what I buy.

Sponges don't have bubbles. And why did I know you were going to say the exact same sentence as the other times again? Go drink some Heiniken, you heretic!

All beer is for girly men. :P We real men drink Mountain Dew and Fanta! :P If I was to drink, I think that it would have to be Dreher.
