White screen in the demo

As there isnt a single demo problem thread in the apothacary and not one person seems to be online on that board i am presenting this dilemma to you lot.
Every time I try to boot up the demo of Empire TW the screen goes white and all i can see is the gold cursor and I can hear the music and the clicking noises when my cursor hovers over the buttons, but I cannot see anything. I have windows Vista 64 Bit an intel quad core q6600 4 gigd of ram and a Nvidia 8800gt. It worked before on my pre upgrade rig so I'm sure its nothing to do with the physical video card.

The only advice I can give is to check you have the latest video drivers for your graphics card, and if that doesn't help try re-intalling the demo.
