From looking around at other forums it seems that steam is way overloaded and people are getting pretty fired up...Luckily I planned to play in 2 days so I have all day tomorrow to download. I hope it unlocks at 02:00 PST because that is 00:00 my time but steam is telling me 16 hours which is more like 04:00 my time...Would be nice to try and run the download when Europe and much of the Americas is asleep instead of when every US gamer is trying to download it.

well hopefully everyone can remain calm and be patient with steam and the downloads

How fast does Steam download? I'm thinking it is better to just go and buy the box copy tomorrow because the actual download at 10gigs is going to be like a day anyways. Or am I missing some new and improved faster download technology?

Steam for me usually goes somewhere around 1.8 MB/s. The demo did. Yes that's an M for Megabytes.

That is huuuge. I'm glad I'm getting a hard copy, if I had to download it my internet would choke and die.

...Ok now that it is out of my system. I'm installing it now and i gotta say the map that came with the game is neat but abit smaller than what i was expecting.

I dont think i will get any sleep for the next 9 months.

Actually i've been downloading since 4 am EST. I've been at a constant 800 kb/s and am 77% done after about 3 hours. It's gone a lot faster than I expected.
