    I thought that we were supposed to be able to establish colonies because I cant find out how to do it any help?

    I don't think you can. I think you have to conquer the ones that are already there.

    What happens with that big space between the eastern US regions and the Great Plain/New Mexico then?

    Maybe it's ''No owner land''? Can be claimed by every faction, first who find it gets it! That's only a guess!

    There is the same in Canada too. And let us not forget the non-province of Switzerland!

    I guess it like a free spot. You can move there but you don’t own it. But I am just guessing as my copy has not arrived yet…

    In whole Switzerland is only wood and mountains, so can't go there.

    It's 'wilderness' and has no owner. It was one of the first things i checked.
